Moving about 8.3km toward Go's Cave on 88th county road from Yeongwol-eup, a road to left appears. Turn left here to go about 1.3km, a forked road appears. Take the left-hand fork along Imdo street(There used to be a mine.) and go about 100m. The road is bent in a L-shape. Go along the left ridgeline, and Yongdam Cave is located on the Sansa-myeon on the left.

Yongdam Cave was designated as local product #23 in June 17, 1976.
The cave is developed from southwest to northeast. It has 2 entrances(the first entrance, the second entrance). The size of the first entrance is 1m wide and 1.5m high. The size of the second entrance is 2.5m wide and 1.3m high. Yongdam cave is a vertical cave of multilayered structure connected like stairs. Its path is developed generally toward northeast. Yongdam cave has 5 stories and 5 squares.  The difference of altitude of highest and the lowest from the entrance is 98m. The length of each story is 66m, 142m, 173m, 43m, and 279m from the uppermost one to the lowest one. The length of shown cave is 197m, and the length of the hidden parts are 506m. The total length of Yongdam cave is about 703m.

Yongdam Cave shows many vertical path and multilayered structure because it was formed very complicatedly. Various cave product such as soda straw, stalactite, stalagmite, stone pillar, Yuseok, cave coral, resting stone, curtain, bacon sheet, curved stone, oyster, cave pearl and cave pisolite, and cave air bubble are growing inside Yongdam cave. It's academically very important that there are various cave product in a such small section.  Especially, cave air bubble is a cave product that's rarely found in other lime cave, but many are distributed in the end of this cave. Also, cave corals are developing in beautiful form on the bottom and the wall of this cave. Some stalagmite in fried egg form shows well of the form of stalagmite. 39 species, 37 genus, 35 families, 20 items, 8 classes of cave creatures are found. 21 species of imported animals, 7 species of origin cave animals, and 11 species of prefering cave animals are found among them.
