Changnyeongsaji is a temple of sanji Buddhist temple above 400m above the sea level located in Changwon2-ri, Nam-myeon, Yeongwol-gun. Changnyeongsaji was known as a temple with a grave in it, and its name was not know. While Kim, Byeongho, the owner of the land, readjusted arable land where temple lot is located, many Nahansangs assumed to be 500 Nahans were found, and the name was known. Later, Gangwon Cultural Assets Research Institute inspected it twice.
The 1st inspection(2001. 9. 25~10. 17) was operated as emergency probation term of reported buried cultural assets found. As the result of the inspection, it was a building that enshrined Nahansang, and Baesuro, stone wall and such were found. As the need of additional extended excavation was raised on the committee meeting, the owner of the land donated whole inspection area on 1075(total of 332pyeong). Therefore, the second additional excavation was decided to be carried out.
In the result of the second inspection(2002. 8. 1~10. 19), tabji, stone wall, Baesuro, place for the ritual for rain, and round yugu as well as lot of 3 buildings were found. More Nahansangs were found with many famous tiles and potteries.
