Geumgangjeong is on the cliff of Geumgang, the east side of KBS Broadcasting Studio, presently. Only the hanging board written by Lee, Seungman is left, and gimunpan and sipan are lost.
This building is built with round pillars on 30cm high natural foundation with support. It has 4gan in the front and 3gan in the side. It has layered eaves and a paljak roof. The bottom of the pavilion is shaped like a well. The height measured from the foundation is 42cm. The second gan from the right of the front is used as a door. Except for the entrance, plain handrail of baseboard type that's 40cm high is lining between every gan. It shows choikgong type. The support of girder is carved similar to show Gongpo style.
It was established in 1428(10th year in the reign of King Sejong) by Kim, Buhang, and Lee, Jasam, the county headmanof Yeongwol, named it Geumgangjeong. According to 'Geumgangjeonggi' by Song, Siyeol, when Lee, Jasam was assigned, he tried to rebuild this old pavilion. Eo, Ikji, the inspector of Gangwon, helped to complete it. Lee, the county headman, repaired it in 1684, and Bak, Seowon, the county headman, restored it in 1818.
