Geummongam is a small temple that is a part of Bodeoksa Temple. Uisangjosa established it and named it Jideokam in 680(20th year in the reign of King Munmu) in Silla Period. In 1457(3rd year in the reign of King Sejo) in Joseon Period, it was renamed to Geummongam. In 1610(2nd year in the reign of King Gwanghaegun), Kim, Taekryong, the county headman, enlarged it and renamed it to Noreungsa. In 1770(46th year in the reign of King Yeongjo), it was renamed to Geummongam again and became a part of Bodeoksa Temple. According to a legend, it's similar to where Danjong toured in his dreams during his banishment(1441~1457, period of reign : 1452~1455).

A building of 5gan in the front and 2gan in the side on the 150cm high stone wallfoundation on the east and a 2 story building of 3gan in the front and 1gan in the side on the north are forming a shape. It was burnt during Japanese invasion, and it was restored many times. In 1745(21st year in the reign of King Yeongjo), it was rebuilt as a commoner's house like now, and it has been used as a form of general house since then. And presently, there is a small temple named Seonungak, a temple with a Buddhist image inside, behind it. Seonungak has a tower style floor of 2gan in the front and 4gan in the side. It's considered as shrine of Danjong because it's near Jangneung.
